Chapter 2: Unexpected Discoveries
Usagi's brown furrowed in puzzlement as she felt a warmth around her body. Dead people weren't supposed to feel, so why was she...?
Unless, the damned crystal did something that it shouldn't have done.
A furious snarl escaped her lips as her eyes shot open, only to be met with the sight of her previous mothers face. The soft giggle coming from Queen Serenity's lips startled her even more.
"My dear, sweet Bunny. There's no reason to be angry." she said, sliding her slim, pale hand through her daughters golden hair.
Usagi blinked, uncertain of how to react. Her mother wasn't one to pay her visits like this.
"Why am I here? More importantly...Why aren't I dead?" she demanded a bit roughly, struggling to sit up by herself and glaring at the late Queen.
"What kind of mother would I be if I let you die like that? Instead, I have come to give you a preposition that I think will please you." Serenity answered softly, pure love shining in her eyes.
"What preposition?" Usagi asked, not as gruffly this time though.
"I chance to go to a new dimension. I place where no one knows who you are. I new beginning, a new hope. And...a new life."
Usagi's eyes widened at that statement. Could she really do that? Wouldn't her destiny hold her back? Well, no matter. She wasn't one to question sudden luck. Lets just pray that she wouldn't have to find another ally to kill herself in.
"......Alright. I'll do it." she said, after a few minutes of silence. Her mother smiled and hugged her tightly.
"I knew you would. Also, it's about time to give you full memories of the Silver Millennium, including your training with the Ginzuishou."
A sudden wave of memories washed upon Usagi's mind, giving her one hell of a headache. After it was over, she smirked slightly. She remembered her lost powers and attacks, which she just 'knew' would come in handy in the days to pass.
"Thank you mother..." she said, hugging Serenity tightly. Then, a pale glow surrounded her, and she gasped as she felt herself disappear. That gasp turned into a full out scream as she appeared miles from the ground...and falling fast.
"Oh bad oh bad oh bad bad BAD!!" she yelled, waving her arms around in hopes of slowing herself down. So far, it wasn't working.
She closed her eyes and prepared for the impact. It never came.
Startled, her she slowly opened her blue eyes, which widened considerably. She was floating ..in mid air..all by herself.
As she landed softly on the ground, she noticed a slight added weight attached to her back. She gulped, and nearly screamed as she saw a two pairs of fluffy, white, not to mention huge, wings on her back. The two largest wings were on the top of her shoulders, while the other smaller ones were a bit below them. All in all, it surprised her to see 'four' wings.
"What the hell..." she mumbled, slowly reaching out to touch one. She found it as soft as it looked, and quite silky. Blinking, she quickly looked over herself to see if there were any 'other' additions to herself.
She let out a breath of air that she didn't realize she was holding. The wings seemed to be the only thing out of place.
Shaking her head at the injustice of her life, and so forth, she looked around for the first time. Rock..sand...shrub....rock....more sand...twig....another rock...
She sighed. What wonderful scenery to be stuck in for a while.
Figuring that she might as well try to use her new appendages, she flapped them gently, wincing as her newly found muscles moved for the first time. Maybe she should hold out on the whole flying thing until her muscles get used to this first...
Sighing, Gods, it seemed like she was doing that more often these days, she started walking in a random direction. It really was random too. She just closed her eyes and spun on her heels a few times with her arm outstretched and then where ever her arm pointed, she went.
A few hours later, she climbed a tall tree to rest. The farther she went, the more greener it got. As she looked out into the horizon, she could see a good-sized city. All thought of being tired left her and she skillfully jumped down the tree, using her wings for balance.
Now running, it only took her about an hour and a half to reach the city. Civilization at last!
She stopped besides a parked car and checked out her appearance, trying to brush dust and twigs off her clothes and hair. Figuring she could fix herself better later, she literally skipped down the sidewalk, happy she got away from that damned destiny. A sign next to her made her suddenly halt.
Usagi's eyes widened considerably as she took in the glorious sight before her. It...it was...
"....so beautiful..." she whispered, gazing at the huge selection of ice cream. She pressed her face against the glass, eyes watering.
They watered even more as she realized she had 'no money'...
A silky voice startled her out of her self-pitying thoughts.
"Look in your pocket, darling..."
Usagi blinked and did what her mothers voice instructed her to do. She could have died from happiness as she looked at the credit card.
Wasting no more time, she quickly rushed into the store, leaving a cloud of dust behind her.
Somewhere, Queen Serenity sweatdropped.
Inside, two boys looked up as they heard the loud bell go off signaling that someone has entered the store. The small black haired one went back to his ice cream, while the older one nearly choked on his sundae, making the other one raise an eyebrow.
"Trunks, are you ok?" the smaller boy asked with concern evident in his voice.
"Uh, yea, I'm fine Gohan, really..." Trunks assured, blushing like mad at the same time as he watched his golden haired beauty order almost everything on the menu.
Usagi was in heaven. They even had more kinds of ice cream here than back home. A cloud passed over her happy mood as she sat down in one of the booths away from people. Her home...
She missed it terribly. Motoki...her Outer Senshi...they were probably worried about her. Maybe she would get to see them again someday.
She mentally slapped herself. She came here so she wouldn't feel like this anymore. This was no time to live in the past. She should enjoy herself while she still could.
With that thought in mind, she dug in to her cold treats.
Ever get the feeling you're being watched? Yea, well that was the feeling Usagi was getting at the moment. She turned around and nearly gasped. There, just ten feet away, was the most glorious guy she had ever seen in her whole life! Mamoru-baka couldn't even begin to compare with him.
Well, then again, Mamoru would have a hard time holding his own against a slug. No offense to any slugs out there.
Trunks and Usa blushed at the same time and looked down as their eyes locked, eating their ice cream quietly, and leaving behind one very confused Gohan.
'Well, maybe there was hope for this dimension yet...' Usagi thought, steeling a glance at the object of her desire once more.
