How to Place a Wallpaper on Your Desktop

These instructions are based on Windows 98. If they don't work for your system, you can search online (Try Google) and I'm sure you can find a tutorial suited for you.

The easiest way to place a wallpaper on your desktop is to right click on the actual sized wallpaper and choose the option 'Set as Background'.

Another option is to use your Display Properties. There are two ways to do this:

Right click on the actual sized wallpaper and choose 'Save Picture As'. Save the image to a place where you will be able to find it again easily (like your desktop or the My Documents folder).
Click on the Start button, usually located in the bottom left of your screen.
Go to 'Settings'
Go to 'Active Desktop'
Choose 'Customize my Desktop...'
A panel will pop up on your screen. Choose the tab in the top left of the panel that says 'Background'
Click on the button in the bottom right of the panel that says 'Browse' and find the wallpaper that you previously saved.
Choose 'OK' and you're done!

The other way to use Display Properties is as follows:

Right click on the actual sized wallpaper and choose 'Save Picture As'. Save the image to a place where you will be able to find it again easily (like your desktop or the My Documents folder).
Double click on the 'My Computer' icon located on your desktop.
Double click on the icon named 'Control Panel'
Couble click on 'Display'
A panel will pop up on your screen. Choose the tab in the top left of the panel that says 'Background'
Click on the button in the bottom right of the panel that says 'Browse' and find the wallpaper that you previously saved.
Choose 'OK' and you're done!
